At the 34th SOCAN Awards, the purple carpet glittered with vibrant hues, patchwork and a relaxed, effortless vibe. Inside HISTORY in Toronto’s east end, guests embraced colour and casual chic, with flowing silhouettes, deep burgundies, lush greens, and an array of bold shades taking centre stage. The unconventional carpet set the tone for a night where individuality and artistic flair showed up powerfully.
On the colour spectrum, standout ensembles included award-winning singer-songwriter Rêve’s lime green maxi dress by House of CB. Its intricate sparkle detailing was complemented by baby pink feathered cuffs that added a playful contrast, reflecting her favourite trend aesthetic — Bratz doll. The gown’s dramatic high slit perfectly framed her metallic silver heels, which were adorned with delicate pearl straps for a modern touch of elegance. Equally captivating was LU KALA — who received the Viral Song Award — embracing the green trend with a lush olive velvet jumpsuit from Fashion Nova. The look was further elevated by cascading gold waist chains, adding an extra layer of opulence and glamour.
Traditional suits were notably absent from the men's fashion choices. Instead, Frank Walker opted for a stylish leather blazer and Country Music Award winner, James Barker, colour sandwiched in a laid-back jacket. Both Lubalin and Sebastian Gaskin expressed their current love for the oversized fashion trend, with Gaskin making a bold statement in a structured oversized forest green trench coat. The piece featured a subtle black pattern, adding depth to elevate his look while solidifying the idea of comfort meeting creativity.
